installing a video card…?

Im installing a E-geforce fx 5200 pci video card on my dell desktop..
the dell VGA outlet is damaged and doesnt work any more so i bought the new video card. problem is that i need 2 get into the initial setup F2 to configure to send the signal out through the card..
and cant do that with a blank screen..any suggestions are appreciated..

You might have tried this already, which in case it won’t help that much…Try putting the new video card in correctly anyways and plug the VGA cable into it. Most video cards are built so that they function minimally in a plug-and-play environment. See if that works.

Can’t get my monitor to recognize VGA to HDMI converter box?

I just bought a GE Force FX 5500 with only sVideo and VGA output. I have an AOC LCD monitor with both VGA and HDMI ports. It works fine with the VGA to VGA connection but I want to go HD so I purchased a HD converter box that has a VGA input port and a DVI output. I bought a DVI/HDMI Male/Male cable and everything fits just fine – but my monitor doesn’t see a signal from the converter box. What am I doing wrong?

What you are trying to do, is completely pointless.
You are not going to magically get a better picture or larger screen size just because you get it to go through the HDMI port. The picture on the screen will be exactly the same wheter it runs through the VGA cable or through an HDMI cable.
