difficulty setting up computer, need help.?

I recently just bought a gateway FX 7026 and a HD2200 Gate Way monitor. When I set up the comptuer everything was fine but I had a little trouble connecting the monitor to the cpu, i used the vga cable the came with the monitor and after I connected it and put the computer on the monitor kept saying no signal, after a while of fiddiling around the screen popped up and everything was fine. The thing I noticed however is that the connection is very delicate and if I move the computer a little bit the the screen goes black. Is tthe connection supposed to delicate or is my cable faulty. I just bought this and I want to make sure everything is fine before the warrenty runs out.

No, there’s no way that should be happening to your monitor. The first thing I would check is if the cable is properly connected. If the cable has screws on it to lock it into place (and I’ve never seen one that doesn’t), it should never move, however much you move your computer about.

Is it the correct speed for your M/board
there are 3 different AGP speeds 4X 8X and 16X if your board is 4X it will not use a 8X and so on check your board AGP speed and video card speed
